Why we process personal data
When you place an order through our webshop, we enter into an agreement. To execute this agreement properly, we need information from and about you. Without this information, we cannot conclude an agreement with you.
For the execution of the agreement, we need the following necessary information from you: name, address (billing and shipping), email address, and bank account number.
Additionally, there is information that we do not necessarily need to execute the agreement, but you may choose to provide. This could include, for example, your date of birth and phone number.
If you provide personal data that is not strictly necessary and you give it to us based on your consent, you can always withdraw your consent. Any processing we performed before you withdrew your consent remains valid.
We receive all information directly from you and not from third parties.
How we work
Contact form
On our website, you can fill out a contact form. You use this form if you want personalized products or if you have a question for us. The required fields are name, email address and your question or request. All of this information is necessary to contact you regarding your order or question.
Quotation
If you contact us for a custom quote, we will prepare it for you. For this, we need your contact details: name, address, email address, and phone number.
Shipping
After placing your order in the webshop, the order must of course be shipped to you. This is done via an external delivery service. For this, it is necessary to share your address with the delivery service.
Administration
We keep administrative records and use payment services. This is done using special software and with assistance from an accountant. We have data processing agreements with these parties, where necessary.
Website maintenance
We use a website builder for our website and webshop. This party has access to customer data but does not use it for its own purposes. We have a data processing agreement with the website builder.
Newsletter
If you are interested in our products, you can subscribe to our newsletter. For this, we need your email address to send the newsletter. Your email address is placed in our mailing software, with which we have a data processing agreement. Providing this information is always based on your consent.
Reviews
We work with parties to collect reviews. If you leave a review, your personal data is processed based on consent.
Cookies
We use cookies on our website. Sometimes personal data is processed for this purpose. This always happens only with your consent. For more information, see our cookie statement.
Customer account
You can create a customer account on our website. Your email address is your username. You will receive a code by email to log into your own account. In this account, you can keep track of your purchases. Creating an account is always voluntary, and providing personal data for the account is based on consent.
We try to work with parties located in the EU whenever possible. If that is not possible, we investigate the security measures the party has taken to protect your data and only proceed if we are satisfied with the level of protection. Currently, we only use parties in the EU.
Target audience of Just the Jacket
We only target adults. If a minor places an order, we assume that parental consent has been given.
How long we store your data
We do not store personal data longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. Concretely:
- If you are a customer and we have an agreement, we keep your data (including invoice and payment information) for up to seven years after the end of our agreement. This is the legal retention period required by the Dutch Tax Authorities.
- If you only contacted us and no agreement was concluded, we keep your data for a maximum of two years. If you subscribed to the newsletter, we delete your data within three months after unsubscribing.
Sharing personal data with third parties
We do not sell your data to third parties and only share it if necessary to execute the agreement, for example, when using third-party software. We have data processing agreements in place to ensure the same level of protection and confidentiality. We remain responsible for these processes.
Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making without human intervention.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have several rights. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw consent or object to the processing of your data, and the right to data portability. This means you can request that your personal data be sent in a computer file to you or another organization you specify.
You can send such a request to customerservice@justthejacket.com. We will respond as soon as possible, but within one month at the latest.
Securing personal data
We take the protection of your data seriously and take appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. This includes password protection for computer systems and SSL security for the website. If you feel your data is not secure or suspect misuse, please contact us.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal data, please let us know. You can also submit a complaint to the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
