FAQ
In a nutshell: yes. When you insert a pin or brooch into fabric, you literally make small holes in it. How large or visible those holes are depends on a few things:
- The type of fabric. Thin or fine fabrics (such as silk) can quickly develop visible holes, while thicker fabrics (such as wool or denim) are less prone to this.
- Type of pin/brooch. Thin pins or brooches with sharp pins usually leave small holes. Thick or heavy brooches generally leave larger holes.
- Frequency of use. If you wear a brooch or pin in the same place all the time, the holes may become larger or the fabric may weaken. We therefore recommend that you smooth out the hole after each use and attach it to a different place on the fabric the next time.
- Our magnetic brooches and clip brooches do not make holes in your clothes.
You can try to make the holes in your fabric less noticeable by steaming or ironing them briefly.
A brooch is no longer just for classic outfits. For a modern look, wear a statement brooch on the lapel of an oversized blazer, in the middle of a buttoned collar on a blouse, or even on the waistband of a skirt. The current trend is 'clustering': combine several small pins and brooches in a group on your breast pocket for a unique, personalized look.
Nothing is more annoying than losing your favorite pin. That is why our pins are equipped with a sturdy butterfly clutch or a rubber cap that fits snugly around the needle. For extra security on thick fabrics such as denim or leather jackets, we recommend pressing the clasp firmly on the inside. Thanks to the high-quality grip, our pins stay firmly in place, even on a busy day or during a night out.
Button covers are the ultimate style hack. They are pieces of jewelry that you snap over the existing buttons of your blouse or blazer. You slide the mechanism behind the button and snap it shut. This way, you transform an ordinary button into a luxurious piece of jewellery in an instant, without having to sew. Our button covers are designed for most standard buttons on blouses, shirts, and cuffs (up to a diameter of approx. 11 mm). They work best on flat buttons.
Our sleeve holders (also known as sleeve garters) are elastic. You wear them on your upper or lower arm, under the rolled-up sleeve of your blazer or blouse. They ensure that your sleeves stay at the perfect height all day long, for that casual "rolled-up" look that normally always slips down.
To maintain the shine of your accessories, we recommend putting them on as the last step of your routine (after perfume and hairspray). Clean them occasionally after wearing with a soft, dry cloth. Store them in a dry place.
